Day 06: Mahabalipuram - Tanjore
The ancient city of Tanjore is the former capital of the Chola kings, whose origins can be traced back to the Christian era. Proceed for a sightseeing of Tanjore. Visit the Brihadeeshwara temple and Fort. Built by Raja Raja, this World Heritage Monument is a crowning glory in the Chola temple architecture. The dome on top of the apex and the enormous Shiva lingam make it an enchanting place and worth a visit again and again. Visit the beautiful art gallery near by. The place is also known for its silk.
