Day 05: Jaipur
After
relishing a hearty breakfast, proceed for a tour to the Amber Fort.
Enjoy Elephant back ascent to the hilltop fort. Amber Fort - situated 11 km from Jaipur is the majestic Amber Fort Palace. Commissioned by Raja Man Singh in 1592, the fortress palace is a superb example of Rajput architecture. The opulent palace proudly stands on a hillside overlooking a lake which reflects its terraces and ramparts on its shimmering waters. Hawa Mahal - The most famous landmark of the city, Hawa Mahal or the palace of winds was built by Maharajah Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. The five storeyed pink sandstone structure was originally built to enable ladies of the royal family watch everyday proceedings on the streets below. City
Palace - situated in the heart of the old city, the City Palace
encompasses a whole centre inside its huge walls, consisting of a series
of courtyards, gardens and buildings. Displaying a perfect blend of
Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, a part of the palace is still
occupied by members of the royal family. Jaigarh
Fort - The imposing Jaigarh Fort lies at a distance of 15 km from
the city. Lying in the midst of thorn-scrub hills, the fort was built to
bolster the defence mechanism of Amer. The invincible structure contains
all the features typical of a citadel. Evening will be free for leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Jaipur. Evening Leisure Activities (Not included in package)
